La Quinta Inn Old Town

This was not the first time we have stayed at the La Quinta, but the first time since it became an all non-smoking property.
The rooms are clean and well layed out, and the location is optimum for walking old town (at least a dozen quality eateries, and as many cantinas) or a short trip by trolley down to the Gaslamp Quarter and points South.

The booking through skoosh was the best price we have had at this hotel in many years, and although they charge $10USD per day for parking (and didn't mention the charge at check-in, BTW), it is still an outstanding deal for this property.

Although it was a bit inconvenient to have to go out to the front gate in order to smoke, we dealt with it.

This is our favorite place to stay when traveling for business, it is walking distance to Old Town, and a straight shot to the 5 Fwy to head up to our meetings for the day. It is also about 5 minutes to the airport, and it is well kept, the staff is always friendly and they have hot coffee in the morning. Good enough for me!

convenient location if you're not renting a car. walking distance to Old Town and the Rail. close to the Airport.

It was a good value. Rooms were clean and staff was courteous. Beds were fine.

The breakfast room had the charm of a greyhound bus station. Not too inviting. Also, the breakfast food was a bit on the unimaginative side. An increased emphasis on healthy food choices would be a plus.

Unfortunately, the hotel is located near a very busy interstate highway. The noise level is high.

However, if breakfast and noise are not an issue for you, then this is a very fine place.

I have stayed previously and the Hotel is excellent for Old Town and surrounding area. Good amenities and breakfast. Only down side this year is introduction of $10 per day parking fee.
