I stayed at the Candy Hostel for one night of partying in NYC. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, which was very clean and had enough space where you can move around easily. This is a very convenient and clean hostel, located right next to the 1,2, 3 train stop on 96th St. There are plenty if eateries around and a nice friendly crowd that's usually around. Will highly recommend.

Paid less than $50 a night for a single room/bed. I found the accomodations quite good actually. The staff were all very friendly and funny! Stayed on the 7th floor which was nice. Ask for a room away from the entrance door to the wing as it bangs shut. You will want to bring ear plugs as not all guests are conscious of others and it was quite noisy over the weekend nights. Bathroom was fine; yes it could have been cleaner, but here again not all guests know how to clean up after themselves. I have stayed in many hostels and 4-5 star hotels as well...I would stay at Candy Hostel again...close to the subway and convenient to anything you might need on your trip. The area is quite safe. Thanks.

I am from Kazakhstan. It took me on about 20 hours to get to New York City. So you can imagine how people usually fill after they did such a long trip. I was very tired. But when I arrive to the hostel, first what I saw were 3 beautiful ladies at the reception who were highly professional and custom oriented. They took care of me so I fell like it was my second home! I stayed in NYC for 3 days and every single day I was loved to see those ladies at the reception. I called them princess.
Here are their names:
Princess number one: Nafisa Jaffar – very nice and beautiful lady with beautiful smile. Professional, polite, very qualified and custom oriented.
Princess number two: Sandra Sanchez – she is the one, who “saved my live”. She saw how tired was I and she gave me the room on lower floor so that I could get in to my room easily. Very custom oriented and qualified lady.
And princess number three is: Aileen Nunez – she took care of me as well as those princess whom I just mentioned above. I’d like to wish her to have successful delivery. She soon becomes a beautiful mom.
I’d like to say thank you to those 3 princesses who take care of me.
Their night security shift leader was just great as well as all security staff. I fell my self very secure because of these guys!

The hostel it self was very good. Clean rooms, clean bath room, clean and fresh towels. Everything was just great! And the most important and very useful thing was free WiFi internet at the lobby! Very convenient, very useful.
Hostels location is great as well. The 96-th street subway station is very close, Starbucks coffeehouse everywhere nearby.

Next time when I go to NYC I stay at Candy hostel.

Thank you Candy to make my stay in NYC as it was at home!
