Mondrian is designed by one of the world's most inventive young talents: multiple awarded-wining Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. Mondrian is pioneering revolutionary, world-class design in a growing neighborhood for a new generation of style-conscious travelers. Mondrian will be surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and spectacular views of Biscayne Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, & the Miami Skyline. The grand entryway is appointed with Marcel Wander's designed furniture, lighting and accent pieces. Asia de Cuba blends a vibrant, social atmosphere conceived by Marcel Wanders with innovative menus, incorporating the best of Asian and Latin cuisine and producing intense flavors distinctly united. The restaurant delivers imaginatively prepared signature dishes such as Calamari Salad "Asia de Cuba, " with chayote, hearts of palm, banana, cashews, chicory and radicchio in a sesame orange dressing; Tunapica, a picadillo style tuna tartare with Spanish olives, black currants, almonds and coconut in a soy-lime vinaigrette; Palomillo of Marinated Lamb, Miso-Cured Alaskan Butterfish accompanied by a tempura-battered shisito pepper, and Lobster "Mai-Tai, with rhum, coconut, red curry and wok crispy boniato. Mondrian's Lobby will feature 17'6' high ceilings offering spectacular views of Biscayne Bay, the pool, & marina. With a 4, 000 sq ft signature lobby that will flows onto the pool deck, Mondrian will have a one-of-a-kind lounge/bar atmosphere overlooking Biscayne bay. World renowned Asia de Cuba will be featured as well as a dynamic night life lounge. The One Bedroom suites are sophisticated, in color palette of grays, golds, black and white with custom wall-coverings, rugs and furnishings, Wanders has created open living areas that are dynamic yet relaxed. Spaces flow into one another to create an expansive feel, large windows, many with balconies, open to stunning views of the bay and ocean. Kitchen and dining areas feature walls covered in traditional Dutch Delft tile custom-made with Miami Beach motifs. Bedrooms open on to bathrooms with oversized sinks and showers tiled in a mosaic of clouds and sky. Wanders' signature chandeliers, are hung through out the suites, including one that doubles as a shower head. 10 kms to city centre, 10 kms to the airport (miami), 47 kms to the airport (ft. lauderdale), Close to the beach, Close to the trade fair ground (miami beach convention center).

Decent experience

Would recc to others. Is a nice change of pace from staying near the whole collins/ocean ave scene. Much more residential.. and thus quiter.. on the Bay side as opposed to the south beach side of Miami Beach. Amenities are nice. Pool has great view of sunset each day. For some reason I felt like not booking the hotel directly thru Mondrian led to us receiving a little bit different treatment (i.e. less high class) than direct bookers. Maybe that was just my mistaken impression though. Had initially booked a dbl room with two twin beds. First room we were escorted to had only one dbl bed. Went back down to front desk- had room changed. Food at Asia de Cuba was okay. I'm a lil biased b/c Ive had ADC so many times in NYC. Overall decent experience.

the mondrian hotel is the place to be

i would definitely recommend this place to anyone desiring to stay in/near/around south beach. it's a little bit off the beaten path from the beach, collins ave, and lincoln rd. but just a short cab ride or even a walk away to all of the above places. and relatively speaking, this hotel is very inexpensive for s. beach. for the younger crowd interested in the night life and miami scene, check out the bar in the lobby and pool area on fri. nights and check out the "pool party" on sun. from 2pm-10pm. lots of eye candy!!

Mondrian Hotel worst customer service ever

I definitely will not recommend this hotel to anyone. They provided the worst customer service. Extremely rude attitude. I found bugs in my bedroom. There was a lack of clean towels, toilet paper and other bathroom necessities.
