Overall a very good option for the beach, but you can do better particularly at this price.
We went superbowl week, the place was overrun by celebs, which wasn't necessarily good or bad. Lobby very small. Rooms have nice linens and are enormous, 40 feet from hallway to window, we had 2 couches, a dining room table, and it still felt empty! This is because the hotel is a renovated property, not a brand new building like the W next door (which we'd prefer). Main pool is very nice, beach feels too far removed from the property, Nikki Beach club wasn't open yet, but will have no ocean views. The plunge pool is very clubby with a loud dj all day long, not our idea of a relaxing afternoon. Phillipe looked empty most days, pool bar adequate but not great, $18 burgers. Plunge very windy but cool at night.

I have already been spreading the word about the hotel. I loved even when you get there early they take down your information and call your phone when the room is ready. They even have your bags already in the room waiting. The staff is very respectful and young and beautiful. The Gansevoort is worth every penny because they treated me like a princess. My expectations were far beyond met. Just know that you pay for what you get and that type of quality doesnt come cheap. Drinks were as high as $20...only flaw

New, very hip and trendy hotel built to a high standard. Room was large, comtortable and provided pretty much everything you would expect. Tea & coffee making facilities would have been nice though. Only problem with the room was that it was overlooked by all of the balconies on the adjoining wing. Be a bit careful with the location of the hotel. If you want to be in the middle of the action, you won't be. Loved the roof top pool & bar. More of a social scene for the beautiful people or (want to be's), but good fun. The main pool is fab. Only one, (so I am told), in SoBe to have a view of the sea. and it is worth it. Complaints; 20% service charge is mandatory and if you don't tip on top of that, expect to be ignored. You are only a $ to them

The concierge Victoria was great. Went out of her way to help us with reservations to the best restaurants in town. Also, the pool great and scene is just as great! Managers TC and Don were very accommodating. Will be staying there again.
