Housed in a building that dates back to 1895, this 16-storey hotel comprises a total of 105 rooms. Facilities within the air-conditioned city hotel include an elegant foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe, a cloakroom, a currency exchange desk and several lifts.
Moreover, there is a newspaper stand and Internet access to take advantage of and dining options come in the form of a restaurant offering updated American food classics. Guests may make use of the room and laundry services. Those arriving by car may make use of the hotel car park.
We really enjoyed staying in a historic building, it was great that the inside iron detailing and the old doors were kept on the rooms. The decor was quite sumptuous. The room and beds were comfortable. We had great views from our suite on the corner of the building looking north on State Street.
The hotel is in a great location, blocks from Millenium Park and shopping. Otherwise, it is convenient to public transportation. Everyone at the hotel was willing to help you, no matter the request.
The Atwood Cafe makes the best egg breakfast I've had in some time. The continental breakfast was ok but did not offer much selection, so most days we ended up ordering a full breaksfast anyway.
